African Clawed Frogs
INTRODUCTION
When keeping an African Clawed Frog, make sure that you do not fill up your tank water all the way, for even ACF's can get through the slightest holes in your tank, even the one where your filter is. For no reason should your frog should be out of the water.
COMPATIBILITY
The Clawed frog tends to be aggressive when going for food. You should not put Clawed frogs with any kind of fish. They should only be kept with other Clawed frogs. They grow to be about 6 inches, and they would do best in something like a 10 gallon aquarium.
FOOD
The Clawed frogs will eat almost anything that can fit in their mouth. Opinionally, I think that brine shrimp are the best food for them to eat.
FILTRATION
These frogs do not require much filtration at all. However, they still need a decent filter and weekly water changes.
HEATING
African Clawed Frogs should have a heater in their tank. The temperature should be around 26 degrees C
or 79 degrees farenheit.
SAND OR GRAVEL
If not every, almost every aquatic frog enjoys gravel more than sand.
HOOLD AND LIGHTING
The African Clawed frogs do good with normal freshwater tank lighting.
This is where taking care of these frogs can be difficult:
These frogs most definitely need a good hood. There should be no extra holes left open in the hood. These frogs can even get through the filter hole. This is why you should not fill your frogs tank with water close to the top of the aquarium.
SEXING
Like most frogs today, the female has a tail-like extension on her end. The males do not.
