One of my first betta's... a steel blue halfmoon passed away. He was 21 months old. I did not take a pic of him, since he has been fairing poorly for the past three months (got a camera only two months ago), a did not want him to be remember in that condition. :-(

I am relieved he went already. His had it pretty rought the last five days.

He was one of my first betta's and was a good fish.

Thanks... although when you have two dozen betta's. You start getting used to the fact that some of them will leave you (2 year liefspan divided 24 fish... you get the picture). With this many fish... well losses occur on a regular basis,

Ouch, ral, I got all my Betta in the last 6 months: about 20 (w/ some more coming soon). I suppose I will lose them all at once and have a freaked few months of hair pulling and emergency runs. :hyper:

I'm sorry about the loss. No one can really get used to death. :-(

Ah, that's too bad. I've had my red VT for a year now (he was my first betta), and he was old when I got 'em. I know I'll feel bad when he passes.

:rip: Karl. I am sorry to hear of your loss. It always hurts when one passes on. Especially if it is one that you have had for a long time.

Thanks all. Lately, when I buy fish I try to always get pairs. I know I will loose the fish one day... and with betta's that one day is pretty soon. And they are not generic like some other varieities. Each betta is very different from the others... so they are not replaceable. Anyway, I get pairs, because I figure, I may not be able to keep the fish for long, but maybe I can keep the line alive for longer.

 Breed for longevity. The perfect Betta will live long and prosper. Betta Rule!
