Hi
Since I've added a fluval 2 filter to my tank the heating has jumped up 2 degrees, has anybody else had this problem, does the Fluval 2 produce heat?

The motor in the filter will produce some heat although I expect that what you are seeing is an change in flow in the tank. If your thermometer was in a cool spot in the tank the increase could be due to a better mix of water within the tank. Conversely, the changed flow may now be producing hot spots which your thermometer is picking up.

Thanks WK

I have changed the position of my thermometer to the other side of the tank and the reading still stays the same 27c. I have got a juwell rekord 60 where the thermometer sits in the filter unit, I changed the Juwell heater because i thought that was the problem, so i bought a sera heater and i have set that at 20c for now to bring the water temp down, but it still remains at 27c.
