Yeah brand name. I have a Juwel Vision 180 as one of my reef tanks.
Nice tanks but really they are designed more for a freshwater tank. They can be effective marine tanks also though
They arent cheap ! )
Very well made and really do look nice when filled with water. However, as i mentioned before, they are really designed for the freshwater market, their hoods dont work well for anything other than the lights they supply (which is not really up to the job for corals etc). They come with their own internal filter (which can be removedbut its totally self contained.. heater, powerhead etc)
IF i knew about other "brand named" tanks on the market that were designed more for a marine envrinment then i would have got that instead, however its a really nice looking tank and im happy with it. (my 100 gallon tank cost less than half the price of my 40 gallon Juwel though! )
knowing what i know now i would not have bought a juwel tank as i think they are over priced and i had to cut part of the tank away to fit my deluxe prizm skimmer (daunting thought but it was the only way i could fit it).1i have to say that the tanks are excellently put together though.Another problem i have encountered is finding suitable lighting for it, any help would be appreciated
Juwels are really good tanks, only problem is they aren't ment for salt tanks as stated before, said that I have 2 a 180 and 240 and i think they are great, and look superb too.
