Hi could anyone help me my Juwel vision 180 light has packed up, I dont know if it is just a bulb or if it is a problem with the unit. My question is, does anybody know where I could by some cheap tubes nothing expensive because as I say I dont know if its just a bulb issue or the unit. Could I just leave the bulbs in also or do they have to be made for aquariums? I dont want to put any plants in but I might be adding 2 or 3 medium sized moss balls.

Thanks.

Hi Jonathan, are both tubes dead? I have had the very same problem with a Juwel Rio 180 that I have just got from a friend. It was working fine for her but when it arrived yesterday at mine I set up the tank, plugged in and they just flashed on for a second then out. I had the same question is it the tubes or the unit, very unlikely that the tubes would both go together. I thought it might be that the on/off switch was faulty so after looking at the price of a new unit £88 I thought I had nothing to loose by cutting off the wire before the switch, and fitting a plug on and guess what, that didn't work! so its looking like I will have to buy a new unit unless some else knows something. I would be interested to know as I am sure you would, is this a common problem. Good Luck

My tank is about 4 weeks old now, and I cleaned out the sand yesterday and turned lights on, and they wouldnt come back on, I tried different sockets different tubes, new amp and nothing worked. Ileft of for the night and turned on next morning and they worked.

Its not anything to do with this is it?

Yes I think your right, its wonderful information and I only wish I could do the job but at least I know that I have to buy a new unit and move on.
