Thanks

Hi nathan yeah ive got a jewel trigon 190 set up for marine, with a hydor external canister filter, red sea prizm protein skimmer, 1x 600gph powerhead soon to be 2, and 20kg of live rock just waiting for the live rock to finish curing. There a great tank for most fish as the bow front adds a different dimension to the overall look of the water, but yes in my opinion they are good for marines. kr Dan :shifty:

hiya nathan, i'm afraid i'd have to disagree

i've got a trigon 350, the larger version of your tank, we considered converting it to marine but because of the design of the cabinet it'd be nigh on impossible to get a decent sized sump in there, which while not essential has many many benefits

Hi there i agree with you wiggle but 190 ltres is a fair bit less than than a 350, so i dont think you would really need to consider a sump with a 190 like i say we have a skimmer mounted to the back left corner on ours an ext cans filt under the cupboard and the powerhead blowing water across the tank, water is change every 2 weeks 25% with ro and we seem to be running fine. All im saying is if this guy is wanting to convert to marine lets try not to put him off converting by commenting on stuff that isnt an essential piece of equipment in a average size tank. ill take some pics of mine when i get home later and post them on.

i by no means want to discourage you from going marine, if you already have the tank then so be it and you can work around it and make it into a marine tank...... however if you have not yet bought the tank then it's something to take into consideration

we've got a 120l tank and are currently working on setting up a sump for it, i would definately want one for a 190l tank. i'd want one for any marine tank really tbh, think it makes your life a lot easier and makes the tank easier and more stable to run. It would be a big enough factor to put me off buying one specifically for marine, just my opinion though.

Right, i have no plans for a sump anyway which every tank i use, but thanks for the advice.
