My Juwel rekord 70 is scratched a lot on the front, could i remove the filter then spin the tank round and simply re- attatch the filter box to the scratched glass, if so what silicone can i use and would all the old silicone come off with no marks?

Hi,

I don't know about just spinning it round, depends on if it looks ok i suppose, but i have removed the filter box from my Juwel tank. It's quite easy and any LFS will sell aquarium silicone which is relatively cheap to buy. Hope this helps.

yer my spinning around i ment that the current front will become the back which has no scratches on it, and when you removed you filter did it leave any marks?

No it doesn't leave any marks, just some silicone stuck to the glass. I just scraped it off with a wooden spatula to avoid scratches.

i did the same thing,removed the filter,and changed the
tank around,had no problems at all,
i'm glad i unstuck the filter really as i'm now lookin
to replace it with an external,and it will save me time
when it comes to removing it.it's held in place with black suction cups.

Or you could ditch the internal filter completely giving more water space and add an external if money is available to you.
