Just bagged a bargain :*) , can't help it got this terrible diseease that makes me compulsively purchase fish related items. Anyway it's a 24"x12"x12" juwel tank, integral heater and filter but my question is, should there be a condensation lid before the hood. My Marina tanks all have a sort of lighting hood that saves the tube from splashes etc.
I had to buy it because there are just too many species of fish I want and I need more room lol.

Thanks for any advice

I have a Juwel Rekord 70 and it has no condensation tray. I don't think they need one otherwise the manufacturers would have recommended it. The way the hood is designed means that there is nowhere to set the tray on. The suction cups at either end of the light tube should form a waterproof seal. Are you getting a lot of condensation in yours?

It's not set up yet I got it today, kinda for my daughter so I can sneak some more fish in the house on the pretext of them being hers :*) . Also to try and encourage her to get rid of a lot of the junk in her room to make room for it lol.

No none of mine have any.

Hi, if the ligitng system has the sealed connectors (the ones that twist off) - then these provide the necessary condensation protection - provided that they are tight! So, if it is like my Juwel Rio 180 then no, you don't need algea trays, sorry condensation lids :)

Steve

None on my Trigon 190 either - makes it much easier to do daily chores like feeding, and occasional tank maintenance.

I have a juwel vision 180, and this didnt come with a condesation lid either....

My 90 litre hex tank did,

But i think the tubes in the juwels are well protected

Thaks for all the replies. I just wanted to be sure it wasn't missing anything before handing it over.
