Hi everyone, ive just registered on here for some advice, someone gave me a juwel rekord 90 corner tank they had it for 6 years but someone had it before them and they dont know how long they had it, my question to you is does it need to be resealed i asked the woman who i got it off and she said "dont be daft juwel tanks are built to last"
I live in a first floor flat so i dont want to risk it without getting advice

Many thanks

Michelle

Unless the seals are beginning to wear or give away then dont consider doing it. To reseal a tank you need to strip all the old silicon out which is a hard enough job as it is. With your curved glass it could be tough to clamp the glass together to give it enough time for the new silicone to take hold.

Thats my view on it anyway, maybe others will disagree.

Thank you for replying to me I really dont want to reseal it!! if its a little worn can i just top it up with some black silicone?

I really dont know, I have read here before that new silicone wont stick to old silicone.

Just fill the tank in your garden (make sure it is properly supported underneath on a flat surface) and leave it a few hours to see if there is any leaking.
