Hi,

I have been looking into starting a nano reef and have a spare Juwel rekord 60 (12 - 15gal uk / us?) The pump is broken (only 200lph) I want to retro fit somethink like 1000 lph pump to achive 15 - 20 x water movement any ideas how to fit this. I would like to leave the filter box as it can hide the pump, heater etc.

Here is a couple of pics of empty tank

PS ill use LF for filtration besides some filter floss.

I will have more questions soon, but getting the guts of water movement is first.

When I have found out more and am happy to start a nano ill post a diray!

Thanks TFF members

Thanks Dan!

Im sure with the help of TFF and the new the nano section we will get there!

For the benifit of the US it is a 14.90 USG from the caculator I used (24X12X12), but may as well be 10 Gal of water once the LR has displaced some.

As you can see its drying by the fire, so i can leak test it again, as its been in the shed.

How about sticking a powerhead in their with just the nozzle sticking out??

Maxijet 1200 would do nicely?

Just looked that up and looks good and not too costly, ill go to one of my LFS to see size as i would need the baffle in the filter box so i could pump the water through the fine floss. I may see what i can retro fit tomorrow as if i break the box ill go for some sort of HOB.

Oh is £46 for 5Kg of cured LR good? (i think i need 7Kg)

It's about the going rate aslong as it is properly cured. Just remember, don't buy cured LR if you aren't going to transport it properly. It needs to be bagged up like it were a fish so that you have no die-off when you get it home.

If you transport it "dry" in a bag just get it home swiftly and you should have minimal die-off.

hiya Davie, ..going off the subject a tad.. but that 1st photo is cool, I love the way the fire looks in the background with the angle you got of the tank :)
