Juwel Hoods & Light

ok, so i bought a juwel tank rekord 600 ages ago and everything was great . the switch on the light was a bit dodgy, but ok most of the time.

in the last 6 months the light has given me nothing but grief. they keep breaking . i've replaced the whole hood three times now. is this everyone's experience or am i just being unlucky?

the chap in my local store suggested the hood was overly wet, when i took the last broken one in, he was guesing water was getting tino the sealed electrical bits. i've cut lowered the water temperture and level but the hood still seems covered in condensation.

any one got any ideas?

Ouch, that does sound a right pain. I have a Juwel Rekord 70 and Juwel Rio 125 with no problems. However the 600 is a new tank therefore they might have done something different.
Only thing I can think of is buying a condensation tray. Cut it to size so that it sits nicely on the top of the open aquarium then carefully place the lid down.
