Juwel Hood

I have just changed my tank, trying to get the same size as my old juwel 70.Its slightly bigger, so now the whole lid has to sit on the rim of the glass, is there anyway i could maybe take the light system out and rest the tube on pieces of glass or something.I got the idea from another members tank, just cant remember Lol.I dont want to make a bigger lid either.

Okay, i have got a tank, which is slightly bigger than the hood i have wich has got a light built into it (juwel).Is there anyway i can take out the whole light system, and just place the tube accross a piece of glass which is running down both sides of the tank, with the plus etc, near the side of the tank?Or is there any other way i can keep the light but ditch the hood?
