I have the Juwel heater that came with the tank. It sits inside the filter box in the back corner (its a Trugin 190 tank). Will other brands of heater fit into the brackets supplied by Juwel? Does anybody have any experience of replacing the heater? Thanks :good:

Im pritty sure they would, ive still got mine and seems like a standard size :) just get yourself a replacement of the some wattage that the original had.

The Juwel heaters are actually quite a bit thinner than say a Visitherm - so the latter wouldn't fit. You'd more than likely have to buy a Juwel heater again specifically designed for the filter as most heaters have a wider top part - and again this is something that the compartment wouldn't allow room for.

If your internal heater broke, just buy any other heater with a heater guard and stick it next to the filter. That would work just as well.

Thanks guys, my LFS stocks Jewul so I may ask them if they can show me which heaters will fit ok in there. My current heater works but I dont have much faith in it as its set to 30 (for testing purposes) at the mo but the temp never goes above 27 and doesnt seem to drop if I lower it to say 24.
