I have a Rio 400 with the Juwel 300watt heater in the supplied box filter which is run with a Rena XP3 (for routing into UV and C02 reactor).
Anyway, after 3 years, I'm convinced the heater is stuck "on".

I could get a replacement Juwel 300w for £20, but I'm sure there must be better heaters than this. The only problem being it has to fit the Juwel box.
I can't run an external inline heater as the flow is already reduced from the XP.

So any recommendations ?

TIA

Peter

Juwel are reliable. If you have a duff one then it's just bad luck. I dare say that if you buy another it'll be fine.
Mine also went do-lally some years ago, so I had to buy a model that wouldn't fit in the filter until I could get the Juwel one. (Always a good thing having a spare).
Anyway. The heater doesn't have to be in the filter. They only do that to hide it. Rena have a damn good one out at the moment.
But I wouldn't rule Juwel out/

What I would like is something the same size but with a bit more control than +/- on it.
