Juwel Heater - 100w

Hi guys.
I'm getting rid of my internal filter in my Juwel Rekord 120 and I wonder if the heater would be ok stuck to the glass with suction cups ?
I don't think that the heater can be fully sumberged,so I can't angle it in the tank.It also doesn't have a cover.Will it burn the plants and the fish ?
I have seen a 150W one on Ebay with a cover that is submersible.Would this be a better bet ?

I've done it with my Rio 180, and had no problems; mine is angled, but (like you say) not fully submerged.
