Theres a lot of media which most internals dont have which is good but the pump itself isnt. If you are planning on understocking then it should be ok but most need help from a second internal or an upgrade in pump.

Is the filter that comes with a juwel rekord 120 any good, or is it worth replacing??

the juwel filter system is a great biologial filter,
a good mechanical filter but an ok chemical filter.

The only thing I'd change on a rekord 120 is upgrade the powerhead
running the filter from a 400lph to a 600lph

I have a spare Juwel 600lph pump if you're interested (& in the UK)? Was going to put it up on Ebay this week anyway - it's brand new, never used as I'm using the 1000lph at the moment.

Looking for about £20.00 (including recorded delivery postage) for it - let me know.

hi

i have a rio 125.. i have changed to an external eheim filter because it is in my study and is too noisy. When im working late at night and on conference calls the juwel filter was driving me crazy... PM me if u need any help

FcUK B is right - if the filter's noise is driving you crazy, or you don't really want the hassle of all the changing of the sponges, then going with an external is a great idea - I've also now got Eheim's on both my 180L's, and you don't even know the filter's on.

Offer still stands though if you're going to keep what you've got.

I ripped my filter out of my record as it takes up too much room. Plus it was a pain to clean.
