Our rio 180 is all setup and looking okay after a fishless cycle and we are adding fish slowly over the next few weeks however we have a lot of suspended 'matter' in the water, should we upgrade the filter head to the biggest they supply or go for an external?. (model suggestions please).
At the moment we have 5 randy cherry barbs! who love playing in the pump outlet and 3 julii cory's.
Thanks in advance
:fish:

I also have a Juwel Rio 180 and have recently added a Tetratec 700EX running alongside the Juwel internal and the water is absolutely crystal clear. I do intend to take the Juwel filter out once the external has had time to mature, free up a chunk of the tank as well. From what I have read on various forums it's best to upgrade the powerhead of the Juwel to improve performance.

i found that putting filter wool along with the white pad helps loads , at the end of the day there not the best of filters.

I got an external and intend to do the same as wws1509 and remove the juwel once its cloned, im currently removing 1 juwel pad a week and monitoring the stats , all ok so far , only 2 pads to go then its out :), will be one left after tonight lol
