Juwel 240 filter box removal, help

Hey guys,

In my juwel 240 theres a filter box which just doesen't seem to do much, I have a skimmer which cleans really good, but I feal as the filter box is only taking space. It doesen't even move that much water at all.

Or alternatively (spelling) what could I use the filter box for ?, at the moment I have my phosphate remover in there and the filtration system. It's just that it takes a large amount of space even though it looks neat.

I'm still a bit confused so a bit of help and recommendations will be apreciate it alot

I have Juwel and i kept the box in the tank until recently. It was left in the tank purely for the same reasons that you have mentioned and for extra flow. A reef tank needs a high rate of flow (a minimum of 10xthe gallons (UK) per hour) so having an extra powerhead in there really helps add to the flow of the tank.
It does take up room though so its really up to you what you do. If you can keep a good flow in the tank without the need for this powerhead then take it out! Having a filter to be able to add Rowaphos or carbon etc is handy though.
