Juwel 180 Lights Flashed And Died, Bulbs Or Ballast

hi folks, got a juwel rio 180 and when i switched the lights on they flashed and then didnt light. now they are doing nothing, do i need to cut it open like the guide on this foru mand change the ballast lr will it be the bulbs?

No your right, doesnt sound like it. My old 180 used to do that as moisture got in one of the seals on the screw connectors. Might be worth checking them.
 
does your lighting unit have starters in the ballast? sounds like it could be them, if not then yes it could be your tubes

aparantly its a sealed unit without starters, to change the ballast i have to butcher it open


Sounds like tubes. Its an electronic ballast so if one tube stops working then the ballast wont be able to fire up the remainig one.

Buy one tube, swap it for a tube in your setup, if that dont work, swap them around until it does.

If it still dont work it is probably a connection problem.

even though both of the tubes flash when you switch the light switch on and off at the wall? i will see if i can get a hold of a tube to try
 
Sounds Like the ballast to me.

Take the whole Unit down to LFS they should be happy enough to test the bulbs and ballast.

Mine where was doing something simialer.
