Just 'won' a Fluval Osaka 320L on a certain auction site. Almost 3x the size of my current tank.

Over the moon!

(does a little dance)
(has a little beer)
(contemplates the many many options for the tank)
(grins incessantly)

Ahhh nice love the Osakas!! Shame they discontinued them :(

really nice looking tanks these, what are you thinking in regards stock?

Lucky you, how much in the end then :)?

£155 - just the tank, stand and lights. Have been scouring for a 4ft for a while now, and am very happy with something as aesthetically pleasing as an Osaka. Plus it has 80 more litres than most 'standard' 4ft tanks.

(does another dance - getting quite embarrasing now - wife is making disapproving faces at me)

going to be a long hard think until I figure that out. Had some great feedback in the SA Cichlid forum on possibilities. That's probably the route I'm going to head down - but very undecided about what combination to have. It's going to take some serious planning - Journal ahead!

Will probably need to be plantless, due to the cichlids that I'd like, but maybe not. Besides - dosing TPN & EasyCarbo into a 320L? Not sure how I could hide all those cheeky top-ups from the wife!

i'm not sure what the lighting is like on these tanks. It would be an expensive route to go down (dosing easycarbo). The Cichlid route sounds great! :good:

just checked the Hagen website - 2x T5 but doesn't state the wattage.

Will probably have some very tall vallis for the plant donation forum in the near future...

Have you thought about Malawi cichlids?

cheers :good:

I have indeed. Had a little thread in the Old World section as well and Elisew's tank was quite tempting to copy. Not sure it's for me though. I like a bit of variation in general personality within the community and the feeling I get from a great lake set-up is that all the fish generally mix and behave in similar ways.

(gets ready for a barrage of "that's not true at all!" replies from those that are more knowledgeable!)

How about a Tanganyikan tank then? Much more interesting and diverse than Malawi or Victoria. Glad you got your upgrade in the end!

Lol, that old argument between Malawi and Tanganyika will never go away!

Great avatar btw!

Picked it up yesterday - a bit more 'tatty' than I would've liked. But after a good clean there's only a few minor chips and scrapes to the cabinet and the tank seems fine. The brushed aluminium strips are a bit battered though, so I might try and paint that.

Although I've measured the space it's going in and it's a good fit - the whole thing is a lot bigger than it was in my head. Tank is also taller than stated - which is good news for my angel!
