when we got him we were told he was a para pleco....can anyone confirm this??
and if he isnt what would you say he was??? :*)

I would say he's a para plec, have one myself  :) .
They are a real omnivore type of plec and do best on a varied diet of high protein foods and veg- anything from prawns, slices of fish, squid, frozen bloodworm, catfish pelets, cucumber, algae wafers, peas, tomato and melon etc will be taken  .
They are quite peaceful plecs and thankfully only grow to 6inches :) .

yep - very nice Para L075 - Tokis and I have compared personality traits in the past... ours is a bully :)

So pleased that is right I did loads and loads of checking before I got my plecs as to sizes and compatability and stuff...but not being anykind of expert its hard to be sure that what you have been "sold" is what you actually have .... :D

When I can get some pics of him I will post pic's of my Leopard frog pleco just to check him too..at the moment he is small, moves very very qucik and is shy Bless :*)

I have looked at planet catfish and a few others to double check him and am 99.9% sure thats correct and I did get what I paid for :)

at the moment Para (spotty :*) ) hides all the time we put food in at night (Tablets) and its gone in the morning so have to assume he is feeding.....have tried Cuecumber and lettuse and not one tiny bit of interest ( other than the guppies playing chase round the lettuce leaf!) Also have added mussels overnight and they have been nibbled by morning but both my mollies and all my Gouramis love them so no way of knowing whos eating what lol

Thanks for your help :flowers:

What sort of fish do you keep with yours though? I have a mix of small community fish like livebearers, tetras, danios, corys etc and some large common/sailfin plecs and he's great with them. Apparently para plecs do best in groups of their own kind although unfortunatly i havn't seen any para plecs around since i got mine.
