Just Want To Say How Please I Am..

I'm so happy because finally after much persistance (and 1 dead pleco ) I've managed to get my L168 into a routine whereby he actually gets food before the rest of my greedy fish do.

Everyday at lights out i've been putting a courgette and an algae wafer by his hidey hole and after 2 weeks he finally came out and ate it. Now 3 weeks later he has just started to come out day or night when he's hungry and I just watched him swim out, munch on his courgette and then swim back under his bogwood. He's out all the time now and I think i've finally taught him where his food is and he's looking really healthy too!

It's good to finally see one of the most expensive fish in my tank once in a while!

Congrats! My Plec loves Peas and he chases away the rest to get his greens.

Corgette went down well with my smaller one, but not touched by older one.

(Need an extra shopping list when at Grocers

lol yeh i feel like that too... and my fish have their own section in my freezer

He never seems interested in peas, he likes algae wafers and now eats the skin off courgettes but still isnt too keen on the middle, will try a few new vegs when he gets more used to coming out to get his food!

Strange that> Mine leave the skin edges alone and chomp chunks off the white middle.!

+ They tended to float too much so now I stick with Peas.

Have you tried Spinach or Lettuce?

(p.s; a benefit is that a tin of Peas is far cheaper than a Pack of Algae Wafers, and they love em.)

Tried spinach and lettuce and not even my amano shrimp would touch them!!

I just fed my fish some cichlid pellets and my plec came out and started eating them off the floor! Now that he seems to be getting brave (he's been out all day so far) I am going to experiment loads, I'll try spinach and letuce again and see, i'd like to see him eat some bloodworm as well but i don't think there's any chance of my other fish leaving any for him.
