My mum has had the same number since we got rid of Sasha, my old dog, because she kept pinning her sister down by the throat. Just got the dreaded call from her owners that i didn't want to get, Sasha died last night at 6 years old. She was hit by a car on her last walk of the day, now it seems it was her last walk ever. She was on a lead but they let her off when they got to a field out in the middle of nowhere, which is what they have always done. She saw a cat chased it back across the road and got hit. She had very bad internal bleeding and although the vet tried her best, there was nothing they could do. I'm gonna miss you baby, even though i haven't seen you for 5 years of your life. I hope you remembered me.

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place.
He looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
Gods garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering.
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never,
Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were getting hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered "Peace be thine."

It broke our heart's to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day god called you home.

I don't know who wrote this i just found it on google and thought it suited.

What a horrible way to lose a pet. Sorry for your loss
And nice poem, even if it is from Google

Thanks. We were hoping that when we got that call it would be when Sasha was 14-16 years old and had died from natural causes, not 6 and got run over.

Really sorry Alessa

Even when we have to let them go, we never really 'let them go' and I sincerely feel for you, based on personal experience I do know how you feel.

You have your memories of Sasha.

Oh, i'm so sorry, Alessa.
It's the worst when someone else tells you that on the phone.
Nice poem, though.
Just try and think of all the good moments, it worked for me!

I'm trying to think of good memories but all that pops up is her running onto the road and getting hit..... not saying that it's a good memory but i only knew her for the first year of her life so i don't many really.

I know how you feel- I'm sorry, I shouldn't have put it that way. When I lose my beloved pets , I read the Rainbow Bridege poem.... not sure if you know about it, but you should google it. It usually makes me feel a lot better.

sorry for the loss, alessa

my cat sarah died at the age of almost 8. we watched her give birth to her kitties. so sad to see the uphills in life or a pets life go downhill so quickly.
