well had a great day to day i have just bought 3kg of live rock as they had some nice organisms on them.
one piece has feather dusters and some sought of coral i cant tell what it is as it is closed. but i think they where a bargin and looked great.
just thought i would say how happy iam i might sound lame but it is some of my first bits of live rock. and its fun watching the life on them.

just have a few questions:

1. how long would it take for the corals to open up.
2.when i look into the tank the fether dusters go and hide in the rock

1. depends on what species they are and what kind of shape they're in. Anwhere from 1 day to 1 month...

2. whats the question there? ;)

I dont know much about feather dusters to be honest, hopefully somebody else around here can answer that question. As for the coral, just keep providing it with good stable water conditions and hope.

It does depend on what type it is, but they basically retract when something disturbs them. I find mine dart away when a shadow covers them, or when I knock the tank (even closing the cabinet doors). If you stay still long enough, they should re-emerge. :good: Nothing to worry about though, its a normal self preservation tactic.
