Two days ago I purchased an albino bristlenose pleco. He or she is beautiful. I just love it. The best thing is that hes not going to grow to be that big. So if anyone has any suggestions on what they like to eat that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi

I have had one for about year and half, I feed it Hikari algae wafers, they will also eat any food that drops to the bottom of the tank, frozon bloodworms etc. I also believe they like to have wood in the tank.

Thanks
dave

Make sure there's plenty of Bogwood and they go mental for courgette & cucumber

Fyi unless it has black eyes its not L144, it is a common bristlenose

Courgette is always a winner with plecos yes

Another vote here for cucumber and zucchini (Is that courget in the UK?). Congrats on your new fish.

Drew

If it's a common BN then algae wafers and vegetables. Only feed them bloodworm now and again as they are high in protein and will cause problems for your fish.

It doesnt have black eyes it has red. So you know what L# that makes it then? Is it a L144A?

PICS OF THE NEW GUYS!!!!

Hi
That looks like a common albino Long Fin/long fin cross to me :) Quite rare so look after him well :) His fins are longer than usual but not as long for a true long fin, but that may just be the pic.
If the fin to bady ratio is as the pic below, then hes a true long fin..

Hi,

Thanks for the input! Could you clarify what long fin/long fin cross means? I know the pics arent the best, he likes to hide a lot. I had to coax him out with the cucumber. But he does look exactly like that picture. What kind of food should I be feeding him so he gets all the nutrient's he needs?

Hi
Hes a common albino Bn with the long fin variant. If the fins are the same as mine then hes a true long fin and not a cross (long fin x standard Bn)
Food is pretty much same as any BN. Catfish wafers /pellets. lots of greens inc cucumber Courgette carrot shelled peas etc and on occasion bloodworm /meaty type pellet.
The long fins are a really stunning morph. I have them in both brown and albino , though they do look a little over made up when trying to swim around with all that finnage..lol

awesome thanks. Its been kind of tough finding information on him. Im going to spoil him the best I can that way he'll live a super long time. Hes one of the best fish Ive had to date.
