i have just stopped of at my lfs to get some plants and i decided i would buy 6 ottos to keep my tanks clean of alge and eat up those spare alge wafers i have but which tank should i put them in i have two posibilitys. one of the tanks is
tank A= 4foot by 1foot by 15 inches
the other is
tank B= 4 foot by 15inches by 20 inches i think

the problem lies in the contence of the tank i have a breeding pair of jewels in the smaller of the two tanks tank a and i have allot of standard firemouths in tank B but not much alge oh yea and in tank a there are more plants and there is allready one otto i think it will be tank A but if any of you havea reason why tank b would be the one to choose? or advice on ottos when in tanks with breeding cichlid jewels

ok well those mateing jewels kinda made the desicion for me i just saw one of them with the one otto that was in there allready they where not getting on well so all the ottos are in the new tank. i didnt know how protective they would be little otto was just relaxing on the side of the tank and the male comes up to him and starts chewing on his tail plain as the nose on ure face. im glad im not a fish in that tank. every once in a while i see the otto dart about the place with the two cichlids hot on his heals.

they are doing fine im happy that they have somewhere to hide among the plants now. and most of them swim in a pack and the rest kinda just relax on the side. the main reason i got allot of them was because they are in with agressive fish i thaught that as a pack they would do better.
