Ive just found a tiny lilltle newt in with my two fire bellied newts.
Ive only had them a month!.......the baby is about 3mm in length and black.......he looks asthough he has things coming off his head like an axelottle (spelled wrong I think) I dont know what they are called but just next to their gills where as my newts dont have them?.
Has anyone ever bred these before and confirm this definatly is a baby fire bellied newt?
When doing a bit of research I read that they breed in the spring time and lay eggs on a plant, it did say the parents will eat the young (which explains why there is only one that I can see)but this one seems to have survived?
A picture is out of the question as its TINY and my camera is pretty poor.
