I am just wondering if anybody has heard of the dry zoa sending method. And also has anyone tried it or recieved it this way.

It's how alot of LFS get them in I believe

Yea, very common. As Sorgan said, most shops get theirs shipped in just wrapped in wet newspaper. I imagine it would be fine to send frags like that. Hope it helps.

There's a thread on UR about it, I think they use old camera film boxes (the little cylinders) to hold them and some damp cotton wool.

Great idea Imo :good:

INteresting way, cheaper postage! I think as long as they have a wet coverage round them it would be ok! Where is this from fishy?

Never heard of that but interesting. How would you aclimatise though? Or are zoas hardcore in that respect?

Good point!

Unless you do a drip feed, small bucket with the wrapped frag in and slow drip in for hour or something so you have some water, float in bag in tank to get temp then add?

I've heard of people doing this with acros as well. A lot of the time with acro's anyways, people just put them straight in without acclimating them. The theory is that the slime generated when the coral is stressed will acclimate the coral naturally in a way.

ive seen it on Ur and TSB :good:
that is why it is about £3 postage

i think they put it straight in? i had to do this with the corals seffie sent, the GSP are fine a there is 1 mushroom also.

It is very common to send certain corals, in fact almost all corals, dry - I have had dry corals from Joe, Crazyfishes (a member on here) and they were fine :good:
