I am having severe horse withdrawal sypmtoms since selling Brody. So I decided to post a couple of pics of the 2 big boys I have had the pleasure of sharing my life with! Soppy I know but they were my best friends!!!

The Clyde with the western is Derry(thats not me in the pic) derry_lorn_edited.JPG
and the other pic is him shortly after he began working with the mounted police in Glasgow. derry.jpg

The piebald (black and White) is Brody who has just been sold to a competition home to do showing so I am looking out for him at the Horse of the Year Show next year! Picture29.jpg

Both were great horses and very good with people! Must admit Derry was my fave but he was like owning a very big dog! followed me everywhere!

Brody is a very handsome lad  and Derry looks like a big stocky lad !

I know you're pregnant, but why did you have to sell them though ? Many pregnant woman just keep them on and get sharers while they can't ride / look after them.

Lovely horses! Is the last one a Gypsy Vanner?

Yeah he is not registered or anything but I think Victoria his new mum has registered him with CHAPs now. He's 15.3hh at the withers and 16.1hh at the bum! he just 5 still go ta bit of leveling out to do!

Derry I had to sell a few years ago due to loss of grazing and not enuff finances to keep him in! Was bad time for my family too and I just didnt have enuff time to dedicate to him! Lets just say horsey people can be cruel! Will regret selling him til the day I die! his conformation was rubbish but overall he was so impressive and such a lamb to handle! and he was so fast for his size! nothing like galloping a Clydesdale!

I had to sell brody more because of finances actually sold him the week before I found out I was pregnant. And to be honest he needed to get out and see a bit of the world I am a happy hacker and he needed more stimulation than that! Miss them both tho!

But got the bairn's pony all sorted out already! Wiggler will like ponies!! :)

Awww...I have a couple of Gypsy Vanners too. He's a pretty good sized one. He's got great coloring too. What does CHAPS stand for? I'm in the US, so I'm not up with the Gypsy Vanners over there!

To be honest Brody's type would just have been a cob up until maybe 8 years ago when people started to really appreciate the differences and you would have been able to pick up a gypsy vanner/cob really cheaply as we say "off the boat from Ireland"

My friend has a Gypsy Cob of about 15hh who is fantastic and she picked him up for under £500 less 5 yrs ago. we take them for granted over here cause they are so common altho not always good quality!

But you guys seem to be going mad for them! are they getting really popular in america now?
