was at the pet store buying a heater for my tanks for the winter months (temp dropped to 60 last night in my guppy tank!) and i found an HUGE female swordtail, i measured her and she's 11-12 centimetres, hard to tell exactly cus she kept moving (suprise). it was a spur of the moment kind of thing. was planning on only raising guppies but just to find one that size...

I currently have 4 tanks and only my guppy tank is cycled, and im fishless cycling the rest, would it be ok if i stopped cycling one and added her too it? doing daily water changes and syphoning waste everyday? the ammonia level in my cycling tanks is 3.5-4.0 and i just did a water change in the one i was planning on adding her and it's now around 2.0, she'll be with 2 other swordtails aswell (didn't wan't her to feel lonely...)

anyways anyone has suggestions on what to do?

Please don't add her to an un-cycled tank. Could you ask the LFS to keep her until you're ready?

You could add her to the guppy tank temporarily (I know its a bit of a squeeze but it should only be for a few days). I admit I'm slightly concerned about your plan to add her to the other swordtails. You are aware that they aren't keen on their own kind, aren't you?
