I thought starfish was an octet though? Or does it grow the other?

They can have irregular numbers of legs.. I blame everything on the A-bombs
No, they are just naturally occuring like that. May never grow any more arms.. Some longer than others.. These little guys are pretty common. I have one that lives among the suction cups of my powerhead..
*Forgot to mention that these guys May be a coral eating variety.. So keep an eye on him if you have any prized corals.. They eat slowly so.. Check around the bases and in the nooks and crannies of your corals to make sure there isn't a legion of them on there doin some damage..

Count the number of legs. IF they have more than the usual (5 legs) the i would watch them carefully. If they have 7 legs then they are not reef safe, they eat coral.
I dont have their name at hand but will ty and look it up and post it here.
