I have just bought a RIO Juwel 125 but I have a few questions?

1. There is meant to be a red light appear within the heater section, from what the manual says?? its been on 2 days but I have not noticed this light?

2. I would like to create bubbles but im very confused as to what I need to get to create them?? You can buy a Air Diffuser for it but im not sure if this is what I need?

thanks?

Hi the light on heaters only comes on when they are heating. What temp is your aquarium currently at and what do you have the heater set for, it may be the water is so warm the heater has not needed to come on. Or maybe you have just missed it.

For bubbles a lot of people use bubble wands http://www.petdiscounters.com/customer/pro...&cat=316&page=1
is this what you meant by an air diffuser? If so :) yes I had not heard them called that.

Have you read up on cycling your aquarium?

What are you planning on housing in it?

Oh and congrats of course on your new tank

I have the bubble curtain thingy in my new set up :D I bought the pump airflow 2 for £9.99, and the tubing for about £3, the actual tube with the holes in, (sorry dont know the name) my brother gave me, as he bought 2, and i think they cost around £7, shop around for you pump though, i went to 3 lfs, and they wanted £24.99 for the same pump, i knew where i could get it from for £9.99, so i went there lol, and saved some money...

The light on the heater is a way down the tube, I expected it to be near the top and visible, ha good design not. I ended up just lifting the heater up a bit and you can see the glow, just to confirm it was working.

Cheers,

Keith

Ah ok, the instructions are not the best are they from Juwel!! So, if I gently lift the heater up, I should see a red light, I do hear clicking from time to time so I can only assume thats the heater going on/off.

In regards to the temp, Im not sure in what direction I should be turning the adjuster?? I have purchased a thermometer?? What is the ideal temp for the tank 78F?

thanks.

I have the same one, and have 2 thermometers on my tank lol, i still have to constantly mess about with the thermometer, clicking back and forth to get it right...

I have a heater in my other tank, and you can set the max it can get to etc...and its visible, i think this is much better....
