Jumping Eel

My Peacock Eel just jumped out of his tank, i was not there at the time. When i walked in the door i noticed he was still alive. To nurse him I put him in my smaller tank with guppies and others. he is currently extremely weak and i was hoping if anyone has any ideas or tips that will help him recover

Was his slime coat dryed out.
Add some water conditioner to the tank.
Was the guppy tanks the same ph and temp.

Also to add, eels are exspert escape artists, always make sure closing the lid after maintainence and feeding, also make sure and gaps on the tank, even the breather gaps are covered and the ones any cables come out from, for this i use good ole gaffa tape , also any opportunity that it could get on top of a filter or glass runners inside ensure they can get back in tank again
