I just recently converted from a gravel substrate to a sand one :D
And i have to say i looks fantastic!

Anyways i now thinking of getting some julii catfish, but my main reason for wanting them is so that they will turn over the sand and stop the dangerous gas pockets forming.

Will julii catfish turn the sand? I've read just about every webpage about them and none have said if they do this.

Any info is grately appreciated.

edit:- Shocking spelling mistakes, shame on me :(

Hi paulioo :)

Corydoras catfish make excellent additions to almost everyone's community tank, and Juliis will love your sand bottom.

They seek their food on the aquarium bottom and move a little of the substrate in the process. I doubt that they can go deep enough into the sand to relieve you of the chore of turning it over though.
