Thought I would introduce my baby...
In my former life I was a veterinary technician. One particularly busy night a young woman brought in a stray kitten she found sitting in the middle of the road in the pouring rain. I was told to go collect him and that the plan was to euthanize him. One look and I understood why. His eyes were so badly infected they bulged from the sockets. He was so skinny and weak he couldn't lift his own head or stand.
I picked him up to take him downstairs so we could give him that final needle...and the little creep latched onto my hand and chomped down as hard as he could (which wasn't very hard, but he sure tried!) I'm usually very logical minded and don't do anything on impulse, but I told the head veterinarian I would take responsibility for his care and pay for treatment. I figured if he still had fight enough to bite, he wanted to live and deserved a chance.
Fast forward 7 years, and he's making my life exciting each and every day. He lost both eyes to infection but Jonas just doesn't care. I won't lie and say he never bumps his head, but he just bounces off and heads the other direction. He's the most active, spunky, bratty little cat I've ever been around. There are days I don't smile the entire day until I set eyes on him, and then I just can't help myself.
