Right My flow has been reduced. i think it down to the pump or filter having sand in it.

Whats the best way to go about cleaning it?

Also whats the best way to clean the black box it all sits in?

if you have followed the manufacturers way of stacking the media, you will probably find it is the top white polishing filter which is blocked, either change it or rinse in old tank water.
If you need to clean the other sponges gently squeeze them in old tank water to clean them.
to clean the black box surround, remove all the media and just scrub it clean with a sponge

hope this helps :)

Yup that'll do the trick, remember, if your removing the media to clean the box (not that the inside really needs to be cleaned?) keep the media in tank water all the time!

I give the filter, box and pump a good going over (not the sponges) and it has improve my flow.

If I was to remove the fliter box what filter/pump would be ideal for the 120l tank? dont mind in tank or outside.

If I went for the EX1200 could I turn it down a bit for my tank? It only costs a little bit more might as well have the more powerfull filter and have it if I upgrade tank size ?

Yes the EX1200 would work admirably. I have just got myself one and I am realy impressed. :good: Great bit of kit, and a worth while bit of equipment IMO

All the best

In the end I went for Eheim 2215 clasic all i could get in N.Ireland :)

What is the best way about swaping filter? Put my compact juwel media into the can ? or run both side by side?

id run both side by side for about three weeks then remove the internal :good:

You can run both but when i changed from the juwel internal to my eheim classic external i just chucked the juwel sponges into the bio-media bag along with the substrat pro and ran it solo straight away.

Need some help

I take it A goes on the outlet and inlet pipes for stoping water flow?

The part am unsure about is B and C ?

The double taps allow you to cut off the water supply so you can completly diss-attach the filter, b is a bend, should fit within your eheim tubing anywhere along the line that needs a more serious bend (such as when it needs to bend into the tank). C is a rigid piece which you push over piping which has small bends in it to ensure it doesnt kink and stop flow :)

Hope my explanation is clear :p its harder to write then show.
