bought a 2nd hand jewel vision 180 with heater thats in the filter box, cant seem to set it right. It either keeps coming on and heating the tank too warm or not coming on at all. Any ideas ? or should i go buy a new heater.

I have got juwel heaters that are around 6years+ now with no problems as of yet.

Just a warning meljhu...I had a disaster last year with my Rio 180 heater - was 3 years old and it stuck on went I was away on holiday. Came back to find the tank temperature 120 degrees and the fish frazzeled

I'll be replacing the heater every 2 years from now on.

nothing to do with the origianl question, but I felt you should know this tidbit.

as of the 1st october this year all newly made Juwel heaters will come with a guide of temp on the dial.
gone are the days of guessing which way and how much to turn them.

Took them long enough!!! Think that would of been common sense!
