 Hello people.

My Jewel rekord 120 has finally arrived and I have spent today having a great time in setting it up.

There were a few problems along the way,but the one that's puzzling me is the air diffuser I have added. I have been on the Jewel website with no avail.
Basically I have no bubbles. The blue - airstone type of thingy at the end rotates to alter the size of the hole, but I have tried it closed, half open and fully open with no success.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Seems such an easy - I thought - thing to set up !!

Thanks.

Sometimes mine used to do that.
You can either open it so the hole is at it's biggest and blow into it, or take it apart and do the same.

Hi Peter.

Thank you for your reply.

I took the thing to bits, blew through it and put it back together and still no bubbles.....!

I've tried all angles regarding the filter outlet hose and the diffuser pipe. Is there a right/wrong way ?

Help.
I can't go to bed 'til I see bubbles.

Wait a mo'

Is this the usual Juwel venturii that connects to the filter pipe vertically ?
I know it sounds daft, but you have got the blue bit above the water ?

Peter

:good: Thank you to you both.

Thanks Peter !

I so couldn't figure out how water being pushed through a pipe could produce air bubbles - but if the end of the pipe is above water then the pressure of the water going through the outlet pipe would suck air through the system !!

Yey.I have finally got it. BUT - it worked for a while and then stopped and after re ataching it several times and blowing through it several more times I have given up.
I kinda like the idea of it but it doesn't really work and £5.99 is a bit steep don't you think ?

Anyway thanks for your advice.

The fog has cleared in my new tank so I'm off now to dream of what fish I will buy..............soon.

Bye.

Yes, it is indeed overpriced and when you start a planted tank you'll throw it away

Take it to bits and soak it for an hour or so.
I don't know why, but it usually works

Sometimes I had to move the pump about too
