I'm more into keeping freshwater fish but yesterday I went to my LFS and saw Jellyfish for sale. I asked one of the employee's about them and said they sold out really fast. Are jellyfish common in the fish trade because this is my first time ever seeing them for sale?

Common? I wouldn't say common. Available? Yes. But as you can see from the posts, they are not easy to keep. SH

While I have not kept jellyfish, I have read about keeping them. They need circular flow in aquariums, I don't know why so don't ask. I have seen them in a tank at a nearby public aquarium, and they are in a vertical circle in wall tank, the flow is directed so that it spins the circle of water, the intakes of the pumps are not within the circle but instead are in the walls of the tank, and input/output is done through a screen of some sort, very interesting.

Jellyfish cannot cope with the higher currents often associated with salt water tanks. that and due to their make up they are more likely to get shredded in a powerhead. As a result the inlets/outlets have to be behind a screen.

I seem to recall they are more difficult to keep than most fish, probably not far off the scale of keeping octopi.
