Jebo Canister Filters

I have found some very cheap canister filters on ebay. The cheapest I found was 65 total on ebay. It goes 350gph

I did a search on google and I have yet to find one negative thing about it

Anyone has a/any info on the Jebo Filters, I'm thinking about getting one

why not spend 10 dollars more and get a eheim?

I'm either gonna use it on a 40 or 75gallon

And I ebayed eheim, its a lot more expensive that jebo. Its in the hundreds and from reading its not as powerful as the jebo but i don't know anyone who uses jebo, thats why i posted this

Jebo cannisters are almost as good as Eheim and certainly far superiour to Fluval cannisters.

if the retail is really "normerly 150" and they are selling them for 40, then yes it is a bargin.

Your right on the money Wolf, "fluval = bmx" doesn't say much, my girl and I have two 404s and they have given us alot of problems since we bought them (about a 1 1/2 ago)- the embeller shafts are especially touchy. But I would say scrap the idea of a canister filter and go with a powerhead with a biological culturing sponge and a high output (at least 1500 liters per hour, well that is if you have a 50 gallon U.S. and up)- the cost of these are also usually alot less than canisters (when considering comprable outputs), and if you still feel the need for a canister fill it to the brim with black diamond carbon so your water is crystal clear. This is essentially what we've done with a 135 gallon U.S., the water is beautiful and ammonia levels have never gone up above about 0.15 mg/L- WE EVEN STOPPED REPLACING THE CARBON IN THE CANISTER ABOUT 5 OR 6 MONTHS AGO (the only reason we fiddled with it was servicing- like cleaning the intake and outake tubes, cleaning the empeller, and cleaning the existing carbon)!!

I have to say that I have used both eheim and fluval over the years, and I cant honestly say that one is better than the other. they both have good and bad points. my 6x2x2 is run on the fluval fx5 and its great, I had a problem with it when I first bought it, and that was when it turned itself off, it didn't turn back on? I spoke to fluval, and they sent out a new motor with chip, no questions asked, and it arrived the day after, special delivery.

I also have a eheim ecco 2233 that runs my external heater * not needed for filtration* and I also had problems with that, when I switched it on, the pressure was actually forcing the handle out from the sides and forcing the top off, now that caused me many sleepless nights. I dissmantled the unit and now its been running for a couple of months without further problems, touch wood!


I run a 2x2x2 with the eheim 2215, great filter, crap clips holding the top on, and these have a tendancy to pop, the hoses can work themselves loose from the canister.


so the motto of the story is..... go for jebo, I have heard of them and as far as I know, there ok. probably get a couple myself. I am thinking of setting a sump up, and just using the eheim for heating and airiating.

I've always used Fluvals, with no problems, and great results filtration wise. But let's not hijack this thread, filter preference arguments are forever, Tom was specifically asking if anyone had used or knew about Jebos, lol.
