Has anyone had any experience with Jebao External filters? I am looking at getting one.

Any comments on performance, sound, priming etc.

IMHO they are a good cheap alternative to eheims, however
expect the rubbers seals to perish within 2 years and the taps to leak within a year.

If you get one, make sure you are actually saving a decent amount of money.
And, as The-Wolf says, seals and such can begin to go after a couple of years or easily even before.

With cheap externals like these correct maintenance is essential.

You shoulds buy some silicone grease to lubricate the o-rings as often as possible, and always clean out the impeller.

Thanks guys,

No probs with maintenance. That is what I do for a crust. Maintenance Fitter, so orings, taps etc should all be able to be sorted fairy simply.

I really appreciate the advice.
