Jbl Aqua Basis

hi, i have a new tank, and i want to put the JBL aqua basis on the bottom, but it wont be up and running until around Xmas. can i do this or will it 'go off' or cause any nastiness or do any thing? or is it pointless.? becuase then i can place the gravel over the top and any rocks/wood.

also, has anyone tried putting filter floss between the tank and the stand instead of polystyrene? i have masses of it and i can double it up or something and use that. if not, where can i get the large sheets of foam or ploystyrene.? link!! cheers.

you can leave it out, if it is wet then you may get some mould, but i wont be a bad thing.

For polystyrene try wickes or B&Q etc

so, i can shove some in, excellent. will a layer or two of 3cm filter floss be ok? as i have about 6-7 metres of it!

not sure, the floss will be very compact so i doubt it will be as good at absorbing any differences in the glass shape.
