Since the previous batch of fry I had a very long dry run and then last week I noticed one of the males did not come out of his cave during feeding.... This morning, I noticed 2 minute fry swimming around and this afternoon I counted 7..... There are many hiding places all over the pond so I would expect to see a lot more by the end of the weekend....

Problem is..... I am due for a water change in this pond, but lost 95 BN fry after a water change some time ago...... I'll drop the water level by 12 inches and then fill up 1 inch per day for the next 12 days..... Hopefully that'll not affect them too much.

When you say pond?

I call them ponds, mainly because they are outside...... They are containers which are 3ft x 4 ft x 3ft deep, and then also some of them are 8ft diameter circular kiddies pools about 2ft deep......

Nice, did you ever find out why the WC had such an adverse effect on the last lot?

Would love to see a photo of them (the ponds that is)

I just know that there are a lot more of them, but the most I've counted in one run is about 18...... Here is a photo of one sitting on the rubber suckers of my submersable lighting......

Here are 3 survivors of the previous batch where 95 was killed during the water change..... There are about 11 of them left.....
