Let me first say that I don't really have any plan to actually do this(unless others have had luck/think it would work).

I've heard of people starting a hole for jawfish and they soon adopt it as their home and make it deeper. I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried pvc as an artificial hole for jawfish like it is sometimes done for a mantis. I thought it would be handy to be able to keep jawfish without the DSB.

I don't know if the jawfish would like this. They often create more than one hole, or interjoining holes. Much better would probably be to angle the DSB so that it does not have to be so deep at the front.

It may be best to have the sand. It could work but if it doesn't the jawfish is pretty much @#$%ed without a suitable house.

Yup, unless it's a 29 gal and I'll loose a bunch of room. -_- How deep does the sand bed have to be for Jawfish anyway?

Hmmm, think it would level out too much over time if I banked it towards the back as Andy suggested?
