Java Fern Rooting?

If you look at the picture, the fern has little brown root-like things on it with little green sprouts. Are these baby java ferns, or something else?

Yes they are baby java fern well done. when they are ready they will break away and float around the tank, then just tie them to rock or wood.

How long do you think it will take from them to break off?

don't know how long in time but mine break off when they are about 2 inches long

A little off topic but might i suggest you call your green coloured betta (the one in your signature that has no name) The Emerald Prince......I think having The King, Jonny and The Emerald Prince sounds like a name for a movie.
