jade puffer

ok, if you just want us to pay attention, don't spout nonsense just say *bump*. sometimes the squeaky wheel doesn't get grease, it gets a good kicking.

anyways, maybe we just don't know? i know i've never heard of the term "jade puffer" until this morning. do you have pictures? a description? things it *could* be as opposed to things it couldn't? do you think its brackish or fresh?

plus, you could try being more patient. you posted only 6 hours ago. most of the puffer experts have 9to5 jobs and so are on in the afternoon/evening. if it can't wait a day for you to find out, you've probably done something horribly impulsive.

you know what? screw it; i feel like it.

well said pica

after some quite simple searhcing and careful reading it seems the jade puffer is the Tetradon cutcutia

here's some info....

they are best kept singlely as when adult they are waspish and quarellsome. Although if they are going to be kept togther several specimens of the same size should be used.

foods- live foods like snails, bloodworm, tubifex, daphia and earthworms. mussel flesh should also be used.

also if removed from water they blow up and make quacking noises.

they grow to about 3.5inchand a single specimen would require a tank with a 30" length.

all this info was used from the baensch atlas's

do the ones ypu've seen look like this?

Not a good idea though if anyones thinking of trying this, they will need "bleeding" of air if they puff out of water, as they will no longer be able to swim properly and will die due to the fact that they cannot unpuff on thier own when full of air.

Great image though "Quack Quack"
