I have a Jack Dempsey that appears to be sick, he has a line of poop close to the body and he doesn't want to eat, please anyone know what I can do?

probably an internal parasite.
treat with methylene blue or any internal parasite med, do it in a hospital tank (before treating do a large water change with treated tap water)
if your water stats aren't good then it wont help, make sure that you have cycled the tank and when treating take out all carbon.

Actually it is a new tank, I just put them there, I have two JD, but just one it looks like sick

did you cycle it?
if you didn't you need to get on that, and then if you have more of them then treat the whole tank to make sure that all will be good.
and also they are aggressive fish so when they grow you'll most likely have issues, and they are massive.

cycle it? I believe I did, but now the question is, what to do with them? Is it better to get them out to my other fishtank or what? I just want them not to die.

might have not, get your water tested. and place some media from your 55 if that is cycled into the new tank.
do a large water change on the ten gallon with treated water and start treating with a parasite med so you can get the fish a better chance.
they'll be fine because they are small, but you don't want them in there for to long because it'll cause growth issues later on.

Read THIS to see what cycling is. If you don't know that it's cycled or not then I doubt you did.
To help the tank along with this, you can take up to 1/3 of the filter media from your other tank and put it in this one's filter.

White stringy poo is usually an indicator of internal parasites.
