Hi,

I just wondered if anyone else has seen this behaviour before?
They've been trying to breed (female Jack Dempseyand male Texas) and haven't been successful and it's making the Jack Dempsey moody and a bit miserable.

Is it possible for them to cross breed?

Sorry If I'm asking stupid questions. My husband is more the fish person than me.

It might be possible, but why would you want to intentionally create a hybrid cichlid? Both of those cichlids are beautiful as they are. I would suggest either breeding one species or the other. Leave the hybrids to the Asian breeders.

Yeh its possible for them to breed, seen it loads of time, and its up to him if he breeds them, just dont sell the fry as something they are not.
