now this isnt ment to be an aqua scaped tank, this tank has a purpose.
ive had a 4x8x12 tank built to go on my wall above my main tank as a type of veggie filter to help keep my water in tip top condition for my fish.

ive set up the tank with a roughly 2" deep bed of aqua grit chucked if a few plants and added a single 4ft sunglow tube above.

im no plant expert at all and ide like to think that this will be enough to have the plants go wild and fill the tank with growth and use up all the nasties in the water system. but i have no idea at all as you can tell as to what im doing, fish yes but plants no.

will the plants go mad and grow and look healthy as though there doing there job or will they just die and waste the very small amount of money i had to spend on it?

hmm i suggest going for the easiest of easiest stem plants as nitrate sponges.... maybe a lil bit more lighting to help them eat up the nitrates ? co2 injection might be harder because the water is going to come from the main tank.... but it is possible...

regarding the easiest of easiest plants.. i think you already got em there ?Are those egeria densa plants ?

Hygrophila Polysperma is the arguably easiest and fastest growing of all plants. Great nitrate sponge.

well its only been a few days and they are bigger plants already so looks like there going to do the job. i dident realise till i looked back at this thread that they have grown.
