Daddy bristlenose is guarding his fourth clutch of eggs, and for the first time he's positioned himself so I can actually see the eggs in the cave. Hard to spot though, as the cave is an orange clay amphora- so same colour as eggs. But I saw them this morning and they've got little wriggly tails sticking out of them

I know I shouldn't be this excited, but ought to be be thinking more of clamping down on their activity before they swamp the world with little bristles- but I am excited  Previous batches are growing well and I have an outlet for them and quite a bit of growout space- though I don't see myself buying any fish in a hurry.

Oh thats so cool!
Thinking of trying to breed them one day.
Over the years ive bought 3 Bn plecs and theyve all turned out to be female

Why don't you post in the swap/buy/sell section and see if anyone wants to swap one of your females for a male? Or are you too attached to them all? :fun:

Had another look when I came back from work; they have definitely hatched, tiny little bodies sitting on top of their enormous yolk sacs, and now and then one gives a wriggle with its tail and propels itself forward, like somebody floating on top of one of those big bath balls- it looks SO funny.

HI are you sure you wouldnt like to get rid of 2?
I have looked in all my lfs and they havent got any. Also looked online and i cant see them there either.

Hi Littlelegs, have you tried Maidenhead Aquatics, they are quite a good fish place. If they haven't got any Bristlenose Plecs the chances are they will order some in for you.

thanks, yeh i shall try them at the weekend. That was the only place i hadnt tried, because my mate bought some fish there the other week and they all died. But it wont hurt for to take a look.

I know the one I go to is pretty good and the staff are always helpful. Good luck!

congrats - We've got another 'batch' of L182 eggs in a cave too :)

Little legs' drop me a PM if your still looking for Bristle noses ;)
